Superchargers and turbos are great power adders. Both can easily double the power output of your engine. The downfall is that with additional power comes the need to upgrade internal components and lower the compression ratio of the engine for the higher boost levels.

Turbo's are not a bad choice but in drag events, some supercharger guys intentionally "burn out" the turbo guys car during staging. I would say best way to go is either big custom motor w/ either a blower or nitrous setup, or a rear mounted turbo setup to keep the turbos as cool as possible.
