Veiled and flat, with little high end. Plus, a static distortion, that I never really noticed, until it was gone. So, get rid of those old NPE's. Heck, I'd even update a crossover that used poly's, if I didn't know the history of the speakers. Poly's can go bad too, if continually over driven, and heat cycled above spec.
