🔥 Are mik pickups better than mim pickups?

The MIAs are well made better than the MIMs IMO. Thee MIJs can be superb, but like the others, there are cheaper not so well made variants. I had a Squier JV that was great.

🔥 Are tone rider pickups bettter than aaffinity pickups?

Honestly, better than the Duncan and Gibson that were in it when I got it. The stew mac site claims they are late 50's PAF spec, I never played old PAF pickups so I can't compare. They sound good, nice and woody and balanced well. They could be tonerider under a different name if they are all artec made. Either way, a lot of bang for the buck.

The solution: Ground to a metal tailpiece. The point in grounding to the bridge is to connect the strings to the ground loop. The ground loop is all the components — the input jack, pickup, volume control, and strings — connected to a common ground, such as the back of the volume control.

Follow the following steps here: With your guitar’s electronic cavities open, turn your multimeter to the D.C. Resistance setting, about 20K. Hold one terminal on the back of the volume pot, (B on the above strat pickguard image) Use the free terminal to touch every metal piece, and pay attention to the reading of the Multimeter.

As mentioned before, pickups use a minimum 2 wire system with one wire being hot (or +ve) and the other GND (or –ve). The same is also normally also true of active pickups. 3) The 5 / 3 way switch and tone pots.

The most common method is to ground each guitar pickup to the potentiometer that will control the pickups volume. This will allow for the shortest lead wires since the volume pot is the first component in the circuit. Ensure All Components Are Grounded

Step 2: Create a Star (if necessary) This differs from creating a star for humbucker pickups, in that you’ll connect grounding wires from the pickup to the potentiometer that sits just beside the bottom pickups. To do this, solder a wire to the bridge pickup, and then connect that wire to the potentiometer.

Remove the pickup (s). Take out the two screws on either side of any old pickup. Now gently remove it, making sure you leave enough lead wire for both positive and ground. Be certain you keep the springs, screws, and any pickup cover.

You can create a star ground by choosing one point to connect all of the ground wires to in a central location. The cluster of ground wires will form the image of a star, instead of a circle, shown here on Fig 3. The star ground will resist EMI and prevent you from accidentally creating a ground loop later if you perform other modifications.
